The West Capitol Terrace
Parking lots west of the State Capitol were removed during the summer
of 2006 to make way for a people's park - the West Capitol Terrace - with
pedestrian paths, gathering spaces, benches, and native trees
and flowers. Phases I and II of the project are complete.
Phase
III - which includes a fountain and outlying trees, terracing sidewalks and
additional plants - is pending appropriation of funding.
