Vertical Infrastructure Program
Iowa Vertical Infrastructure Advisory Committee
In 1999 the Iowa Vertical Infrastructure Advisory Committee was established by an Executive Order under Governor Vilsack to:
- Annually develop and submit to the Governor recommendations for maintaining and evolving the inventory and assessment of the state's infrastructure and report on the findings of the assessment.
- Annually develop and recommend guidelines, procedures, policies and priorities for review of needs and proposals, and for the development of comprehensive plans.
- Develop and recommend methods for identifying, evaluating and prioritizing infrastructure needs with emphasis on existing buildings.
- Annually develop and submit to the Governor comprehensive five-year plans of recommendations, including the Committee's suggested lists of priority projects.
Strategic Plan
The Iowa Vertical Infrastructure Advisory Committee developed a Strategic Plan that divides maintenance projects into two categories and establishes procedures for allocating appropriated funds.
